KID Museum is our region’s largest center for maker learning for youth. We empower the next generation with the skills to invent the future by delivering engaging maker learning experiences for kids, families, and educators.
Situated between the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River, KID Museum is located in Bethesda, Maryland, the native ancestral home of the Piscataway and the Nacotchtank (Anacostan) Nations, and in close proximity to the Manahoac Nation.

KID Museum offers three distinct types of field trips, all of which are facilitated by our educators. Explorer Program: 90 minute experience which provides a sample or introduction to our programs. Multi-session: A more intensive experience, which involves multiple visits throughout the school year and integrated classroom curriculum.
Make, create, and celebrate your special day with KID Museum! Each KID Museum Birthday Party includes a one hour private, hands-on workshop led by a professional maker educator followed by time for exploring the museum, space for your own refreshments, and a KID t-shirt for the birthday kid.
KID Museum is proud to welcome you to its new flagship site at Bethesda Metro Center — a brand new, 28,000 square foot facility created to foster the “Mind of a Maker” and empower the next generation with the skills to invent the future.

KID Museum is looking for Teen Volunteers (also known as Apprentices) who enjoy working with kids and are interested in science, technology, art, design, math, or engineering. You’ll support the work of KID Museum in our after-school programs, summer camps, and Sunday open museum hours.
