It is developed by Game Freak and published by The Pokémon Company and Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch.
Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s first wave of DLC, The Teal Mask, was released on September 12, 2023, and took players to the land of Kitakami, a small region with traditional Japanese theming.
Pokémon Scarlet[ a] and Pokémon Violet[ b] are 2022 role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company for the Nintendo Switch. They are the first instalments in the ninth generation of the Pokémon video game series. They were announced in February 2022 and released on 18 November 2022.
This set focuses on the Kitakami region, most notably featuring the Loyal Three, a trio of legendary Pokémon from the Scarlet & Violet DLC: The Teal Mask. Booster bundles, booster packs, ETBs, and collection boxes are the current formats in which this set will be distributed, continuing the exclusion of booster boxes for holiday sets.
Kitakami is based on Japan, [7] while the Blueberry Academy is a school environment set in the Unova region, the main location of the 2010 games Pokémon Black and White. [ 8 ] [ 9 ] Scarlet and Violet also features a special mechanic known as "Terastallization" which allow the player's Pokémon to change their elemental types in battle.
