  2. National Christmas Center to reopen - O Gauge Railroading On Line...

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/national-christmas-center-to...

The Christmas museum in Lancaster was closed last year. This was a place where you could step back in time and see what it was like to walk into your local five and dime to purchase a Marx train set and everything you needed to build a Christmas village. While you were there you could buy lights, ornaments and all the trimming for the tree that grew out of that magical village that many of us ...

  3. New Lionel Lighted FasTrack Video - Love It!

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/new-lionel-lighted-fastrack...

Just got my new Lionel lighted Fastrack yesterday. Combined with MTH's LED Christmas cars, this makes quite a show! I really like the new track for around the tree ... this was a great idea. (LED's in the video are over-exposed, so they look brighter/whiter than they really are. You can see the colors better live).

I want to surprise my 4 year old son with my grandfather’s 1940 Lionel train (I guess it’s called a “1668”?) circling the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. I had a local toy train shop fix it up, and the owner said it worked great. I saw it run at the shop, works great. Set it up exactly the same way at home. Locomotive lights up, tender whistles, but the locomotive doesn’t move ...

  5. Polar Express, who has one? - O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/polar-express-who-has-one?...

I have the original Polar Express set. It ran around the home Christmas tree for several years and ran around the office Christmas tree in 2022. However, the set has since been retired in favor of standard gauge trains. It is certainly an iconic modern Lionel train set, but for my situation and current interests it is taking up a lot of space in a closet as I move out of 027 (or is it 036 ...

..it's that time of year! At least it is according to the radio station I heard playing the holiday tunes. I can hear Frosty the Snowman in October but I have to wait ALL THE WAY till Thanksgiving to hear Alice's Restaurant Anyway, I spent my hard earned odd job money on a Lionel Polar Express set as a teenager years ago. The book was a favorite of mine as a kid and we didn't have a train to ...

  7. Adding Command / Legacy Control - O Gauge Railroading On Line...

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/adding-command-legacy-control

We recently moved into a new home and I've had to redo our Christmas train layout. We now have 6 switches in an L layout which makes it difficult to have a traditional board layout around the tree. To that point, I'd like to add "remote control" so I don't need wires running to all of my switches. I have Command Control & Legacy equipped switches so I think I'm covered there. My engine is a ...

Just thought I'd share this photo of my Under-the-Tree Christmas layout. In the foreground is a minty 1946 Lionel Outfit #1400W with a 221 Dreyfus styled Loco and 2400 series passenger cars. In the backround is a 1937 001 Lionel Scale Hudson pulling a 00 Gauge consist from the 1938-42.

  9. Track Activation Device | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/track-activation-device

I was thinking about getting some MTH track activation devices for my Christmas tree layout. They have the 40-1028 which is the Infrared model. That is made for RealTrax. Does anyone know, will that work with the MTH Standard Gauge Track w/ Roadbed? Thanks.

  10. Seen at Menards O scale track inspection set

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/seen-at-menards-o-scale-track...

I am not complaining about this set, it would let someone get in to the hobby for 50 bucks and have 2 trucks that go arround the Christmas tree. That is quite a value no matter how you look at it. Still waiting for more engines and a full set from you guys!

  11. Any sources for a nice set? - O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

    ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/any-sources-for-a-nice-set

Haven’t posted here in years as I don’t have the space to get my trains out anymore but I am looking for a nice tin plate set for under my Christmas tree this year but I can seem to find any used or new? Would really prefer standard gauge as I don’t own one so any idea would be much appreciated! Leaning toward a passenger set and while I enjoy smoke and sounds etc I want to keep it ...
