Graco - Dec of the 6th year except Nautilus which has 9 years on backless version of seat. Evenflo - Dec of the 6th year except Symphony which has 8 years. Britax - 6 yrs except for Frontier which is 9 years. True Fit- 7 yrs. Sunshine Kids Radian- 8 yrs. Safety First Uptown/Avenue - 8 years. Most versions of the Alpha Omega variations - 8 years.
Is there a list of how long car seats have per manufacture? I know Britax is 6 years...but what about Evenflo, Dorel seats, Graco, Recaro, Sunshine Kids...?? Just a list would be great! Thanks
Jun 20, 2005. #7. Different manufacturers recommend different expiration dates. Fisher Price allows its seats to be used for 8 years (however, they don't have replacement parts available for their seats, so if something breaks or gets lost, you have to replace the entire seat); most other manufacturers recommend 6 years.

I recently acquired two Graco CarGos from a good friend that I am hoping I can use for a while. The DOM is 01-29-03 but the carseat says do not use after Dec 2009. If I go by the 6 year rule for carseats expiring it would be expired in Jan of 2009. Is it ok to keep using till Dec of 2009...

Another poster on the board, Skaterbabscpst, has a link to a crash test showing an expired 10 year old Britax seat. It's very scary to watch and very convincing about why you shouldn't use an expired seat because the dummy is thrown violently forward when the harness apparently rips right out of the old seat's shell.
So I am selling my Graco Safeseat in a tag sale and my cousin is selling her Graco Snugride. I have the manufactor dates off of everything but I need know when they expire. How many years? Thanks!
