Henry Clay Yerger was born on December 4, 1861, in Hempstead County, Arkansas, to Sally Yerger. He obtained his education at Philander Smith College. He also studied at Boston University and the Hampton Institute. He married Miss Ella J. Green and to this union eight children were born, five boys and three girls.
The Arkansas Historical Association is a historical society based at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. [1] The association has hosted an annual conference on Arkansas history at varying locations throughout the state since 1946. It also publishes a quarterly academic journal and a bi-annual newsletter.
