Volkner is a Gym Leader in the Sinnoh region. He is an engineer and battler who is friends with Elite Four member Flint. In his and Flint's childhood, they spent time battling poachers and gangs together. Volkner eventually became a Gym Leader, but his skill meant he rarely was challenged, leading to him growing disinterested in battles.
