Hi there. For the last 2 or 3 days I can no longer open my email messages from my Outlook Inbox on my laptop, which has Windows 10. I can see the new/unread emails in the Inbox but when I click on any of them the Inbox goes blank and the message just won't open. Also, my name is no longer displayed in the top right corner of the Outlook page.

Click the File tab and choose Options. In the left pane, choose Advanced. In the Outlook Start And Exit section, use the Browse button to locate the folder or window where you want to start working (Figure A). Select the folder or window. Please confirm if you could open the other folders. If the other folders open fine, you may need to remove and re-add your account to Windows Live Mail. Click here on how to do so. If so Start outlook in safe mode. 1. Close Outlook. 2. Press the windows key+R on the keyboard to open the Run window. 3. In Run window and type outlook /safe (space between 'outlook' and '/'.) If your able to work with Outlook without any problem then the issue might be due to add-ins. 1.
To get out of that, (still trying to get to my Inbox), I have to click on the downward arrow beside Outlook in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, which takes me to the 4 block choices of Mail, People, Calender, or Skydrive. Then, if I click on MAIL, it usually takes me to my Inbox. This is so ridiculous.
When you've signed in and can see your email, right-click on a blank part of the page and select Create shortcut. If you're using Internet Explorer, that will place a new shortcut on your desktop that will take you straight to your inbox. Noel Burgess MVP (Ret'd)
